Led by acclaimed singer and composer Iarla Ó Lionáird, Parthalán is a completely new musical work inspired by one of Ireland’s oldest myths and its deep connection to Tallaght.

Iarla is creating new music and libretto for the work, with Ian Nyquist and Gareth Quinn Redmond collaborating on the music. The performance brings together an exceptional group of Irish artists, featuring:

Taking inspiration from the Lebor Gabála Érenn (The Book of Invasions), Parthalán explores ideas of place, movement, memory, belonging and transformation, connecting an ancient story with the constantly changing landscape and communities of contemporary Tallaght.

For one night only, the South Dublin County Council buildings will be completely transformed through lighting, projection, sound and performance, creating an immersive setting in which audiences can experience this new work.

More than a concert, Parthalán is an invitation to experience Tallaght differently, through story, sound and imagination.
